McInnes Associates offers services that are registered with the Management Capability Development Voucher Fund.
Small businesses may qualify for vouchers to help pay for services such as training workshops, courses and coaching that build the management capabilities of their owners and key managers.
Management Capability Development Vouchers are only available through the Regional Business Partner Network (RBP) Growth Advisors.
Vouchers may be provided to a business where the Growth Advisors have identified a need for management training as part of an action plan to support the business owner to grow and innovate their business.

SME Leaders Wellbeing Programme
Leaders in SMEs have a complex and difficult job in normal circumstances. In the COVID-19 environment, stress levels are potentially at a dangerous peak.
Tools and techniques to manage leaders’ well-being are critical for them and their organisation’s success, now more than ever.
This service provides a mix of coaching and workshops to support SMEs leaders’ well-being and work performance. There are four half-day workshops and four 60 minutes coaching sessions per participant in the programme. We deliver the workshops in-person; coaching via zoom.
Dr Rachel, who has a PhD in employee well-being and work performance via Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and mindfulness and more than 20 years of experience supporting leaders in a range of capacities, leads the programmes.
Topics covered include:
- Managing Stress – Using HRV and smartphones as a tool to monitor health and wellness (based on the latest scientific research)
- Supporting the team and culture in times of stress and change
- Mindful leadership and work-life integration
- Goal hierarchies and values and their role in wellness and work performance
- Creating and maintaining healthy behaviours
Maximum of six participants per course, to maximise impact.

Manager /Leader Training
Managers and leaders usually have excellent functional skills, but little structured training in how to actually do as the title suggests.
We offer a leadership training programme that consists of four half-day sessions and four 1-1 sessions. This structure helps imbed the learned changes, and also minimises disruption to business as usual.
The four modules cover:
- Leadership of self: values, strengths, and blind spots
- Leadership of others: listening, feedback, handling conflict, coaching others, and influencing skills
- Creating Behaviour Change – hacking the science of habits to imbed positive leadership behaviours and support others to change
- Personal Effectiveness: time management, stress management, managing change, and keeping focused
Exact costs vary depending on participants. We keep groups small to enhance learning and change. (Max group size is six).
